Baking
1 whole egg (large)
2 egg yolks (large)
115g Chelsea Caster Sugar
2 tbsp cornflour
400ml full fat (creamy) milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 sheet ready rolled puff pastry
Lightly grease a 12 hole muffin tin and pre-heat oven to 200C/180C fan.
Put egg, yolks, Chelsea Caster Sugar and cornflour in a pan and mix well together then gradually add the milk until mixture is well mixed and smooth.
Place pan on medium heat and stir constantly until mixture thickens and comes to the boil. Remove pan from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Put custard in a glass/ceramic bowl to cool and cover with cling film to prevent skin forming.
Cut pastry sheet into two pieces and place them on top of each other.
Roll the pastry tightly, from the short side, into a log and cut the log into 12 even sized rounds.
On a lightly floured board, roll each round into a disc (approx. 10cm) and press the pastry discs into the muffin tin.
Spoon in the cooled custard and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden on top. Leave to cool in the tin for 5 minutes then move to a cooling rack to finish cooling although they can be eaten warm.

Use this story starter and let your imagination run wild. Remember we have been working on using similes and metaphors. I would love to see these used!!
“Hmmm. Where shall we go this time?” Jeremy asked his brother.
“How about there!?” replied Max excitedly. “We’ve always talked about going there!”
The brothers both put their fingers on the part of the world they had chosen, and waited for the magic to happen.
“I wonder if it will be as fun as our last trip,” mused Jeremy, as the globe began to glow…
The globe started to spin and flash then it stopped and went black, then they began to shrink fastly and they got pulled into the place they chose “Woah” said Jeremy as they began to slide down a icy mountain once they are at the bottom they put on their gloves and zipped up their jackets and put on a warm beanie.
“It's like a winter wonderland” says Max “we’re in antarctica!” replies Jeremy.
They go on a walk and come across an injured penguin with a fishing hook stuck in its back they get it to stop from running away and Jeremy takes out a pain numbing injector from his backpack he injects the penguin in the back and they slowly remove the hook.
After the hook is out they give the penguin a fish it then leads them to a shape of ice it looks like a slide, the penguin goes up the slide and slides on its belly down “that looks fun!” says Max.
They decide to slide down with the penguin then suddenly thousands of penguins emerge from the cold foggy mist “that must be their family” says Jeremy the penguins wave their flipper.
As they leave they then go home with the globe that was in Max's backpack and go home “what an adventure!” Max and Jeremy cheer
